Make A Wish! Conan Gray Announces New Album, ‘Wishbone’
Conan Gray, known for his hit singles “Maniac!” and “Heather”, has just announced his new album, “Wishbone”. On May 22nd, the brooding pop-star took to Instagram to announce his fourth studio album would be released Friday, August 15th (Pre-order here). He also revealed the album cover as well as the tracklist.
In the same Instagram post, Gray revealed, “Over the past two years, I’ve been secretly writing songs …I didn’t tell my label [that I was making this album]. After all, I didn’t know I was making anything, and I had no plan to release any of it”. The singer goes on to state, “the music [on this album] was reminding me who I am, at an experimental time in my twenties where “Who I am” had no definition at all. My driftwood childhood in Texas. My lucid summers in London. My blue striped bedsheets in my college apartment”. Gray signed off the post with, “P.S. a wishbone never breaks even”. And that’s just fine with him.
“Wishbone” finds the pop enigma reuniting with trusty producer, Dan Nigro, after a brief absence from Gray’s third album. Dan Nigro is best known for his work with Olivia Rodrigo.
In addition to a new album, the 26 year old just announced that he will embark on a North American tour in support of it, ‘The Wishbone Pajama Tour’. The tour begins September 11 in Cuyahoga Falls, OH and concludes October 19 in Monterrey, MX (get tickets here)!
To tide fans over in the meantime, Gray is scheduled for a few other pre-tour concert dates, including The Governors Ball in New York, NY on June 7 as well as a performance at the Reading Festival in the UK on August 23!
“Wishbone” is a scheduled to be released on Friday August 15th through Republic Records (a division of Universal Music Group). The first single, “this song”, is set to be released Friday May 30th.
