The World Might Be Off It’s Axis, But At Least We’ve Got Brainrot
Unapologetically, the alt rock Canadian-American singer/songwriter Grandson (typically stylized in lower case) is back at it again with his new single “BRAINROT”. After releases including his albums “I Love You, I’m Trying”, “Death of an Optimist” and his three volume series of EP’s “A Modern Tragedy”, it’s more than clear grandson is not afraid to speak up, refusing to shy away from worldwide conflict and conversations about mental health that makes a lot of people uncomfortable.
As uncomfortable or even irate as it makes us, these are real life conversations. Real life events that need to be brought to light. The lyrics speak for themselves.
Diving into the sound, the song starts with consistent melodic electronics that gradually increase in volume, making a smooth transition into a heavier sound. Not too heavy, as it provides a balanced contrast between the instrumentals and vocals. This song makes you want to bang your head, enjoy its energy, and admire the singer’s clean vocals to hear the story being conveyed through its lyrics.
His new album “INERTIA” comes out September 5th. You can preorder his album here. For those of us who are often disheartened, or feel hopeless about our futures or the state of the world, grandson gives us a voice to be heard. An ounce of hope through his music to keep going through the madness.
