Maria Somerville Announces First North American Tour in Support of Acclaimed Album “Luster”
Irish singer and producer Maria Somerville has announced her first-ever North American tour, set to begin this September. The tour will support her recently released and critically acclaimed album Luster, her debut on the iconic label 4AD.
The tour kicks off in Cleveland, Ohio, on September 5 and will span nine cities across the U.S. and Canada, including stops in Chicago, Minneapolis, Philadelphia, New York, Montreal, and Toronto. Somerville will be joined by fellow experimental artists Chanel Beads and James K on select dates, promising a dynamic and atmospheric live experience.
Somerville’s latest album, Luster, has been praised for its haunting blend of ambient pop, drone, and folk influences. Rooted in the sounds of her native Ireland, the record expands her sonic palette while remaining deeply personal and introspective. The album has already drawn comparisons to artists like Grouper and Julee Cruise, with critics lauding its emotional depth and minimalist beauty.
This tour marks a significant milestone for Somerville, who first garnered attention with her 2019 debut All My People. Now, with Luster, she takes a bold step forward in her artistic evolution, bringing her meditative soundscapes to new audiences across North America.
